Venous Thromboembolism in COVID-19 Patients: A Single-Center Case Series

: Since thrombosis occurrence among coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients is a critical complication, this study aimed to describe the clinical characteristics and outcomes of COVID-19-associated pulmonary thromboembolism (PTE). This case series 39 venous (VTE) represents characteristics, laboratory data, imaging outcomes. The mean age was 55 ± 15 years. Moreover, 25 (64.10%) were male. most frequent COVID-19 presentations dyspnea cough in 22 (56.41%) 19 (48.71%) patients, respectively. Additionally, PTE palpitation anxiety 28 (71.79%) 24 (61.53%) patients. Furthermore, eight (20.51%) showed deep vein color Doppler ultrasound. measures D-dimer, erythrocyte sedimentation rate C-reactive protein 3680 ng/mL, 53 mm/hour, 44 mg/L, Supplemental oxygen ventilator required 29 (74.35%) 2 (5.12%) One patient died from complications, others improved without any complications. VTE potentially life-threatening complication that frequently occurs with COVID-19. Therapeutic doses anticoagulants, extended thromboprophylaxis, meticulous assessments, follow-up, high suspicion early detection are necessary regard.
